- Does the planner work for LVT and rigid core vinyl?
- Yes. Any vinyl sold as planks or tiles and laid in rows plans the same way: enter the piece dimensions and coverage per box from your range. Rigid core, WPC, SPC and dryback glue-down ranges all fit that description.
- What about sheet vinyl?
- Sheet vinyl is bought by the linear metre off a roll rather than by the box, so it is not a board layout problem. Use the vinyl flooring calculator for the sizing logic instead; the planner is for planks and tiles.
- Is the vinyl plank layout planner free?
- Planning is free without an account: draw the room, enter your planks, run the layout and see the waste, the box count, the layout preview and the first two boards of the cut list. The complete cut list and downloads are a one-time unlock for the room, or Pro for many rooms.
- How much waste should I plan for with vinyl planks?
- Planned straight lays routinely land at 5% to 8%, awkward rooms 8% to 12%, herringbone planks far more. The planner does not make you choose a percentage: it counts the offcuts in your actual room and tells you.
